เทศกาลละครกรุงเทพ 2561 ได้เวลากลับมา “เล่น” กันอีกครั้ง

ผ่านร้อนผ่านหนาวมา 17ปี แต่ครั้งนี้เป็นเทศกาลครั้งที่ 15 เพราะต้องงดจัดงานด้วยปัจจัยจำเป็นไปสองครั้ง มหกรรมการแสดงนี้ที่เกิดขึ้นด้วยความร่วมมือของเครือข่ายศิลปิน ประชาคมบางลำพู หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร และผู้สนับสนุนอื่นๆตั้งแต่ปี 2545 ถึงทิศทางของเทศกาลฯจะมุ่งลดการพึ่งพาเงินทุนสนับสนุนจากภาคส่วนต่างๆและให้ศิลปินและผู้ชมเป็นผุ้ลงทุนลงแรงขับเคลื่อนเทศกาลเล็กๆนี้ แต่ความยากลำบากเป็นเครื่องวัดใจผู้ร่วมทางกันมาตลอด ปีนี้เราเจอยาขมหม้อใหญ่ คือพื้นที่แสดงส่วนกลาง ในศูนย์ศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานครนั้น ลดลงเหลือเพียง 3ห้อง และไม่ได้รับการสนับสนุนด้านงบประมาณจากหน่วยงานใดๆทั้งสิ้น แต่ยาก็คือยา นอกจากจะรักษาอาการเจ็บป่วยแล้ว ยังบำรุงสุขภาพให้เข้มแข็งขึ้นอีกด้วย จากข้อจำกัดนี้เองทำให้ศิลปินและผู้จัดดิ้นรนไปเชื่อมโยงกับ โรงละคร สตูดิโอ ร้านรวงต่างๆ รวมถึงสวนสาธารณะ จนเกิดพื้นที่ใหม่ๆ แสดงงานกระจัดกระจายทั่วกรุงเทพฯ ได้มากกว่าทุกครั้งที่ผ่านมา และนี่อาจเป็นสัญญานบางอย่าง ที่จะบอกว่าชาวละครโรงเล็ก ได้พัฒนาทักษะการบริหารจัดการควบคู่ไปกับทักษะการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน จนสามารถขับเคลื่อน การจัดเทศกาลแบบลดการรวมศูนย์ได้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งอาจส่งผลสู่ทิศทางการจัดเทศกาลฯ ในอนาคต ที่จะกระจายพื้นที่จัดงานให้เข้าถึงกลุ่มผู้ชมได้หลากหลาย หลากทางเลือก มากยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก อย่างไรก็ตามพื้นที่ส่วนกลางก็ยังคงมีความจำเป็นต่อกลุ่มเยาวชนหรือศิลปินหน้าใหม่ๆที่ยังไม่ สามารถจัดหาพื้นที่แสดงได้ด้วยตนเอง หากเทศกาลฯไม่อาจสนับสนุนกลุ่มคนเหล่านี้ ก็ยากที่เราจะสร้างอนาคตของวงการฯให้สืบทอดต่อไป ไม่ว่าอนาคตจะเป็นอย่างไร ผมก็หวังว่าเทศกาลเล็กๆนี้ จะยังเคลื่อนไปข้างหน้า คู่กับลมหายใจ ของวงการละครเวที ในเมืองไทย ด้วยความร่วมมือร่วมใจ ของผู้สร้างงานทุกรุ่น และแรงสนับสนุน จากผู้ชมทุกวัย พร้อมที่จะกลับมา”เล่น”กันอีกหรือยังครับ ประดิษฐ ประสาททอง Festival Director #btf2018
Bangkok Theater Festival 2018: It’s time to ‘play’ again. This annual festival has been through 17 years and 15 iterations. Twice the event was cancelled due to unfavorable circumstances. Since 2002, the grand festival of performing arts has been made possible thanks to the cooperation of the network of artists, the Banglamphoo community, Bangkok Art and Culture Center, as well as other supporters. Although the festival encourages less financial reliance from sponsors in various sectors, instead allowing the artists and the audience to help keep it running by itself, such difficulties have always been the principal challenge for everyone involved. This year, we are faced with a bitter pill to swallow. The central venues available in the BACC have been reduced to 3 rooms, and all financial support from agencies was cut completely. Nevertheless, bitter pill means strong medicine, and this pill has made us more resilient. Artists and producers alike strived to establish connections with new theatres, stores, even parks, resulting in the biggest number ever of new performance venues across Bangkok. It is also probably a sign indicating that theatre practitioners have developed management skills along with their creativity, effectively (and efficiently) decentralizing the organization of the festival. The festival may then take a new direction in terms of spreading out further to reach new and more varied audiences. However, the central venues still remains an essential platform for young practitioners or emerging artists who are still unable to find venues by themselves. Should the festival fail to accommodate them, it will be a challenge to foster new futures for the theatre scene. Yet no matter what the future has in store for us, I humbly hope that this little festival would still move forward, breathing together with the collective breath of Thailand’s theatre scene, with the support from all generations of practitioners and audiences.
